a documentary about
Dr. Peter A. Levine

human being, scientist, therapist and inventor of somatic experiencing

"In this biographical documentary film project, I will share various aspects of my life and the work I have developedover the course of my career and am curious to see if the filmmakers can capture me, my personal relationships,
and the way I see the world.

The filmmakers will interview not only renowned colleagues, but close friends and family members to reveal the various facets of who I am and the work that has been in the world for nearly fifty years now. I’m excited to see where their discoveries take us and I hope your curiosity inspires you
to stay with us during the process.

Join us in bringing this story to life and be a part of something which we hope will reach many and resonate with others.
I’d be honored if you joined me in supporting the filmmakers
in the development of this project."

The film should be an addition to Peter Levine's released autobiography, which provides a different perspective on his life through the voices of his friends, colleagues, and family members.
These include Marianne Bentzen, Stephen Porges, Ruth Lanius, Urs Honauer, and others.

Peter A Levine

Trauma is a fact of life.
It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.

Dr. Peter A. Levine has studied human reactions to stress and trauma intensively for 50 years and has created his life's work SOMATIC EXPERIENCING (SE).

He is considered the world's leading expert in the field of somatically oriented trauma theory. He studied at Berkeley and received his doctorate in medical biophysics and psychology.

Later he was a consultant for NASA during the development of the space shuttle, lived for a long time with the Hopi Indian tribe and taught at numerous clinics and pain centers in the USA and Europe. He is also the founder and honorary president of the "Foundation for Human Enrichment” in Boulder (Colorado), a non-profit organization that aims to prevent unnecessary trauma to babies, children and adults.
